I read an interesting post today from Steve Sherlock over at the great new collaborative blog, Joyful Jubilant Learning. Steve posted a regular article and a podcast version. I was amazed at the different take-away between the audio version and the written one. It was like they were two completely different articles.
Steve gave me the impetus to try an experiment that I have been thinking about for a while. What would happen if I recorded a podcast in Garageband on my Mac and simultaneously recorded my voice in Dragon’s Naturally Speaking version 9 on the PC (Thanks to reader Anthony Clendenen for the updated review). This would create a podcast and also a written post at the same time.
I’m setting up the microphones along with testing the software and will give this a try later this week. This may be multitasking in its finest or a collossal mess. I’ll report back when the test is done.
Be sure to check out Joyful Jubilant Learning when you get a chance. This is a collaborative effort headed up by Rosa Say along with many other business and educational bloggers. Surf over and learn something new today

John, I would be interested in the results.
I did mine by doing the written version and then using that as “notes” for the audio version. I found (and you may have heard) that I phrased or said something slightly differently than what was written. So while I thought I was writing as I would talk, I did not talk what I wrote.
I want to try sticking more to an outline format of notes and see how that comes out.
Thanks for the link, reference, and interest! JJLN will be fun to participate in.
