One thing that seems to work for Cross Functional Teams and Cross Cultural Teams is:
Vision => Action => Reflection => Action.
- Vision Meeting: Why is this important for the Company, for us as a team, and for me?
- Action Plan: What do each one of use need to do to make the Vision into a Reality, and by when?
- Reflection: when 1/2 the total allocated time is up, meet again for a short time and discuss if our Actions are bringing us closer to our Goal(s) developed in the Vision meeting, and whether we need to speed up for shift focus.
- Action: Finish up. Helps to have a Big Visible Chart to see how the Team is doing every week (or every day), such as a "Burn Down Chart" from SCRUM.

John, I can so relate to this - in fact, I clicked away for a moment, and am downloading Know Can Do! via my Audible.com subscription as I write this!

Over the years I have somewhat tired of the Ken Blanchard fables, but your recommendation got me to reconsider pretty quickly - learning retention via action is one of my hot buttons these days.
