I agree that we shouldn't settle for good enough. Excellence, not perfection should be the goal. Unfortunately, if we don't limit our choices and get started, we end up waiting for perfection... which never comes. Toyota is a great example of this concept. They started with a great small car and over the years constantly improved it. Now their flagship car, the Camry, is one of the best engineered cars in the world. Had they waited to enter the US market until their cars were better than anything else, they would still be on the outside looking in. I guess a good analogy would be someone who will not play golf until they can be as good as Tiger Woods. If they wait for perfection, they will never play. Instead if they start with great training, and start playing, they get into the game. The key is to not settle for where they are... but to constantly improve their game. I have seen people make the mistake of thinking that OK is good enough but you don't achieve great success by being OK or even good. The success premium comes from excellence. However I wholeheartedly agree with the concept of focus and moving forward one step at a time on the biggest problem. I totally agree that action is the key but you have to be careful with the concept.
