SOBCON Day 1

I have the privledge this year of attending SOBCON in Chicago. SOBCON is a blogging and social media conference put on by Liz Strauss and Terry Starbucker, and is in its fourth year. The list of speakers is incredible and the first day was very helpful to anyone trying to get a handle on the new world of online media.

Some of the idea stream highlights from day 1…

Narrower the target, the bigger the opportunity

Determine your brand attributes

Be clear about what you do and who you do it with.

Small shifts… big difference

Set up a presence management system

Forget perfection… pursue progress

Find your mighty cause…

Knock someone’s socks off…

After masterful presentations by Jonathan FieldsHankWasiakSheila ScarboroughBecky McCray, and Amber Naslund on day one, I can’t wait to see what is in store for day two.

You can see the entire list of presenters and panel members here.

Small shifts, big difference sounds exactly like something from Paretos principle. Put the most effort into the small 20% of areas that yield 80% of results.
